What We Believe
The Holy Scripture
We believe the Bible is God's completely true Word, and it guides everything we believe and how we live.
The Eternal Promise
We believe Jesus will return, believers will live forever with God in heaven, and those who reject Christ will face eternal separation from Him.
The Nature of God
We believe in one God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Jesus is fully God, lived a sinless life, died and rose again, and the Holy Spirit works in believers and in the church today.
The Church
We believe a local, scriptural, New Testament church is a congregation of baptized believers committed to following Jesus, sharing the gospel, practicing baptism and the Lord's Supper, and serving under biblical leadership. Christians should love one another and worship freely.
Grace & Salvation
We believe all people have sinned, and salvation comes only through God's grace by trusting in Jesus. The Holy Spirit gives new life, believers are secure in Christ, and following Jesus transforms how we live.
Satan & Spiritual Warfare
We believe Satan is real and works against God, but his defeat is guaranteed by Christ.
-
Marriage is a sacred covenant designed by God to reflect the relationship between Christ and the church. The Bible defines marriage as the union between a biological man and a biological woman.
-
The Bible indicates that believers should only marry believers and takes a strong stand against divorce with the following few exception:
-
Adultery (Matt. 5:32, 19:9)
-
A believer has been divorced by an unbelieving spouse and has made every attempt to restore the marriage (1 Cor. 7:15)
-
(Gen. 2:21-24; Matt. 19:4-6; Mark 10:6-9; 1 Cor. 7:2-4; Eph. 5:22-31)
Holy Scripture
-
We believe the Bible is completely true and trustworthy, and it guides our faith and practice. (Psalm 119:160; 2 Tim, 3:16, 17)
The Nature of God
-
We believe in one God who exists as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—perfect and equal in every way. (Matt. 28:19)
-
We believe Jesus was born of a virgin and lived a sinless human life. (Matt.1:18-20; 2 Cor. 5:21; 1 Peter 2:22)
-
We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ. (John 10:30; John 1:1, 14; 2 Cor. 5:19)
-
We believe Jesus rose from the dead, returned to heaven, and that all believers will one day rise too. (Matt. 28:1-7; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Cor. 15;42-58; 1 Thess. 4:13-18)
-
We believe the Holy Spirit is the divine leader who strengthens and works through Christ’s churches. (Luke 24:29; John 14:16, 17; Acts 1:4, 5, 8; Acts 2:14)
Grace & Salvation
-
We believe God created people in His image, but all of us have sinned. (Gen. 1:26; Gen. 3:6-24: Rom. 5:12, 19)
-
We believe we are saved only by God’s grace through faith in Jesus—a faith that includes genuine repentance toward God. (Luke 13:3-5; John 3:16-18; Acts 20:21; Rom. 6:23; Eph. 2:8, 9)
-
We believe the Holy Spirit convicts us of sin, gives new life, and stays with every believer forever. (John 3:6; John 16:8, 9; Rom. 8:9-11; 1 Cor. 6:19, 20; Eph. 4:30; Titus 3:5)
-
We believe Jesus died for everyone, but salvation becomes real only for those who believe in Him. (Isa. 53:6; Heb. 2:9; 1 Peter 2:24; 1 Peter 3:18; 2 Peter 3:9. 1 John 2:2)
-
We believe true believers are secure in Christ and will remain faithful to the end. (John 3:36; John 5:24; John 10:27-30; Rom. 8:35-39; Heb. 10:39; 1 Peter1:5)
-
We believe following Jesus changes our lives, leading us to grow in holiness and do good works. (John 10:27; 2 Cor. 5:17; Eph. 2:10; I John 1:6-7; 1 John 2:15-17; 1 John 2:28-29; 1 John3:10; 1 John 5:1-4)
-
We believe God lovingly corrects His children when needed and rewards faithfulness and obedience. (Matt. 16:27; Matt. 25:14-23; John 1:12; Heb. 12:5-11; 2 John 8; Rev. 22:12)
Detailed Statement of Faith
The Eternal Promise
-
We believe Jesus is coming again to take His people home. (1 Thes. 4:13-17; Rev. 22:20)
-
We believe believers will spend eternity with God in heaven as the ultimate blessing. (John 14:1-3; 1 Thes. 4:17; Rev. 21, 22)
-
We believe those who reject Christ will face eternal separation from God in hell, the place of eternal suffering (Luke 16:19-31; Matt 25:31-41; Heb. 9:27-28; Rev. 20: 10-15)
The Church
-
We believe a local, scriptural, New Testament church is a congregation of baptized believers who covenant together to follow Christ and share the gospel.
-
We believe Jesus gave His Great Commission to His churches and promised they would continue through all generations. (Matt 4:18-22; Matt. 16:18; Matt. 28:19, 20; Mark 1:14-20; John 1:35-51; Eph. 3:21)
-
We believe Jesus gave two symbolic ordinances: baptism (full water immersion for believers) and the Lord’s Supper (a memorial ordinance observed by the church family). (Matt.28:19-20; Acts 8:12, 38; Rom. 6:4; 1 Cor. 5:11-13; 1 Cor. 11:1, 2, 17-20, 26)
-
We believe the church has two offices—pastors/elders and deacons—filled by qualified men as Scripture teaches in Titus and 1 Timothy.
-
We believe we should be free to worship without government interference and obey civil laws unless they conflict with God’s Holy Word. (Rom. 13:1-7; 1 Peter 2:13-15)
-
We believe Christians should love one another the way Jesus loves us, showing the world we belong to Him. Love is therefore the great commandment of the LORD Jesus Christ upon which all others are dependent. (Matt 22:35-40; John 13:34-35; John 15:12; 1 John 4:7-21; 1 John 5:1-3; Rev. 2:4-5)
Satan & Spiritual Warfare
-
We believe Satan is real and opposes God by deceiving and tempting people and fighting against the Son of God, but his defeat is certain. (John 8:44; 2 Cor. 4:3-4; Eph. 6:11; Peter 5:8, Gen. 3:15; Rev. 20:1-10)
